Just add a little sugar, a little acid, and let berries go on their magical journey to utter greatness.
Use high-quality balsamic vinegar and you have pure magic.
Macerated Balsamic Blueberries
Ingredients:
• 1 pint fresh blueberries, washed and dried
• 2 tablespoons + 1 teaspoon traditional balsamic vinegar
• 2 tablespoons raw sugar
Directions:
1. In a bowl, combine the blueberries, vinegar and sugar.
2. Stir together to combine, slightly crushing the berries with the back of a fork.
3. Allow to sit at room temperature for at least 1 hour, and up to 4 hours.
Serve over ice cream.
